Hi There!

I’m Miranda, an artist, designer, anthropologist, and student at the University of Michigan. For me, design is an outlet, and a connection point.

I want to connect people with the tools to help them navigate their future, but make them fun and memorable, too.

I’m looking for an internship for this upcoming summer, where I can utilize my design and art background while growing my practical UX skills.

On the side, I work with Michigan Open UX on their E-board and as a Student  Consultant, which have given me tons of experience working with diverse teams. Organization is key for these positions, as they ask me to keep a keen eye on everyone's schedule.

I've also worked with the Lloyd Scholars for Writing and the Arts in the past, a community that I joined in freshman year. I value giving back to my community and helping strong bonds flourish, so it was a position I really enjoyed. Similarly to MOUX, it required a lot of teamwork, but I met some of my best friends there.

My creative outputs are a key part of my life. Nothing sounds more appealing than a little time to sketch while curled up with a warm cup of tea.

Outside of school, I love storytelling. I spend most of my free time drawing, writing, or playing D&D with my party of 2 years, which has required significant planning. Not to brag, but we meet nearly every week, something most other parties can't manage, because we're just so good at scheduling.

I spend a good bit of my time working on stories and characters. Not every one is perfect, but the chance to iterate on my ideas always helps the finals come out more polished, and I often learn new techniques along the way.

And this is my dog Emory. She doesn't know anything about design, but she does know a lot about the taste of pork, and who is the weakest link at the dinner table.

I want to connect people with the tools to help them navigate their future, but make them fun and memorable, too. Good designs are a mix of beautiful and easy to use, after all. I’m looking for an internship for this upcoming summer, where I’m hoping to hone my skills and grow my practice

On the side, I work with Michigan Open UX as a Student  Consultant, and in the mailroom at Alice Lloyd, the dorm where I was part of the Lloyd Scholars for Writing and the Arts.

They've been a crucial jumping off point for my artistic practice, alongside some of my most cherished friendships, so I've been very excited to continue to give back to their community.

Outside of school, I love storytelling. I spend most of my free time drawing, writing, or playing D&D with my party of 2 years, which doesn’t sound like a lot, but it is. I spend a good bit of my time working on stories and characters that will never see the light of day, but some of them have been put to paper (or screen?), which is something.

Though it takes up such a massive part of my time, my creative outputs are a key part of my life. Nothing sounds more appealing than hours and hours of tweaking a character or re-writing a sentence while curled up with a warm cup of tea
